Therapies and Techniques
Specialist techniques
Scar Therapy:
As skin is healing following an operation or accident, different layers under the skin get stuck together as the body works to close and heal the wound. Scar treatment can help gently release these stuck layers to allow better function and movement in the scar tissue and surrounding fascial tissue, muscles and ligaments. Prevention is the best way to approach scar care, starting early with products to help the skin heal with minimal scar tissue formation. |
Weather from surgeries or injuries specialist scar treatment can aid scar recovery both aesthetically and functionally.
Scar treatments assist to soften a scar, reduce adhesions, stimulate circulation, improve sensitivity, mobilise and stretch the skin and fascial layers.
Each session will involve assessment of the scar, gentle massage techniques and may advise the use of specialist products such as compression garments, silicone sheets and gels.
Lots of self help advice will also be provided so you can carry on treating your scars at home.

Massage techniques
Stress Release Massage
This unique blend of massage based on traditional physical therapies is designed to release the bodies key points of tension. Reduced fluidity through these areas can lead to physical stress and strain, which then has the ability to manifest as other symptoms. Primarily focusing on the spine, sacral and cranial regions with general application over the whole body, this method is provided fully clothed (please wear loose comfortable clothing) and can include light, medium and/or deep pressure with fluid motion. A variety of stretches may also be incorporated. A shorter session that focuses on the back is also available. |
Head, Neck and Shoulder Massage - with Clinical Aromatherapy
Provided seated the technique includes a combination of pressure and kneading of the neck, shoulders and head utilising a light oil and a personal blend of Essential oils. A quick 30 minute session to assist in releasing stress and tension. |
Foot Massage - with Clinical Aromatherapy
When the feet are tight the whole body becomes tight! The feet are first bathed and scrubbed using a natural hand made scrub, leaving them feeling refreshed and cleansed. A personal blend of essential oils is mixed with a light cream then the foot and lower leg is massaged and manipulated, releasing tension and leaving you feeling refreshed. A shorter session with hot towels instead of a scrub is also available. |
Hand Massage - with Clinical Aromatherapy
Tension can build up in the hands and arms through the use of keyboards, phones and other intricate devices...including musical instruments! This can lead to a host of difficulties including reduced mobility, reduced grip, weakness and pain. This quick 30 minute session using a personal blend of essential oils in a base oil or light cream is aimed at releasing key trigger points whilst soothing tired muscles. |

A quick 30 minute session that is stimulating and invigorating. |
Acupuncture Pain and Stress Management
Acupuncture (Pain Management):
Body acupuncture influences blood circulation and stimulates nerve endings in the skin and muscles, sending signals to the brain, which in turn releases endorphins and other chemicals that can help reduce pain and stress. Provided for pain management body acupuncture can assist musculoskeletal pain, sciatica, back and neck pain, shoulder and knee pain. Where pain is severe Battlefield Acupuncture may be utilised initially or alongside. |
Acupuncture Microsystems:
Battlefield Acupuncture (Auriculotherapy):
A rapid acupuncture technique for pain! This technique entered the UK following extensive use in the US Military and Airforce. After assessing pain levels a tiny semi-permanent needle is inserted into the ear then gentle exercise (such as walking) is used to activate the point, rapidly stimulating a response via the central nervous system. Following further pain assessment another needle is inserted...up to five per ear may be used. |
Auricular Acupuncture:
Is Acupuncture of the ear. Needles are inserted into specific points on the ear to trigger a response via the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems, which are responsible for regulating the bodies fight or flight response and relaxation response, respectively. By balancing these systems auricular acupuncture may help to promote relaxation and reduce stress. Auricular acupuncture may also stimulate the release of endorphins, the bodies natural pain relieving chemicals, which can help reduce pain and promote feelings of wellbeing. NADA technique is also available to support detoxification and for the support of associated symptoms. |
Healing and Prayer
Hands on Healing and relaxation:
Healing is purely natural and a true healing session surrenders to and trusts in the highest power. A healer is a conduit for that power; God! So a healer is never the source of the healing taking place! The recipient engages with healing through their own ability to receive, trust and surrender. Healing is provided for all aspects of body, mind and spirit, it is gentle and relaxing in nature. Recipients generally feel relaxed, an overall sense of wellbeing and an improved sense of connection with God. |
A healing session begins with Prayer then hands are placed on the body and healing is engaged through divine authority, Mark 16:15-18. A period of relaxation would follow where hands are placed on or near different areas of the body as Prayer continues. It is performed fully clothed and involves no manipulation so is suitable for anyone.
An in person 30 minute Healing and Prayer session is available free. A consultation must be downloaded and completed beforehand and an appointment must be arranged.
Free distant Healing Prayer is also carried our each day at 7.30pm, please click on the button below for more details. If you would also like personal Prayer please get in touch!

Wellbeing Techniques
Applied Fascial Touch
Applied Fascial touch recognises that the body is a breathing organism in a constant state of flexion and extension. Gentle touch is applied to the joints enabling the identification of torsion and imbalances. Release is then facilitated by gently unwinding and so easing trauma and tension that can contribute to pain and stress. Very gentle and suitable for anyone. |
Cranial Balancing:
Is a gentle hands-on therapy that focuses on easing restrictions in the cranial and sacral regions. The cranial bones move in a gentle, synchronised way to accommodate the expansion and return of cerebrospinal fluid. This fluid system stretches from the head to the pelvis nourishing our organs and balancing nerve activity. The technique includes soft touch of the cranial area and the technique is very gentle and relaxing. |
Clinical Holistic Aromatherapy:
Essential oils are commonly used in massage (see above), but can also be used via other means such as, Creams, Baths, Inhalations, Compresses and Vaporisation. Personal products are created for home application. Aromatherapy is the art and science of using Essences/Essential oils extracted from plants to support health and wellbeing. The word aromatherapy suggests it works exclusively through our sense of smell and on the emotions. Although this does play a vital role in aromatherapy the process does not end there. For apart from its scent each essence has an individual combination of constituents which support the body to achieve spiritual, physical and emotional health and wellbeing. |
Please ask if you require a blend that isn't listed. Therapeutic blends can be created for many situations.
Thermal Auricular Therapy (Hopi Ear Candles):
The 'candle', which is a tube, is placed to the ear where a ‘chimney effect’ is created. This chimney effect gently massages the inner ear providing gentle warmth. The treatment is supportive in relieving pressure, achieving equilibrium of the inner ear and providing relaxation. |
Cupping Therapy:
This is a traditional method of fire cupping where glass cups are heated using a flame to create a vacuum in the cup which is then applied to the skin. With the inclusion of a lubricant...normally a light oil, the cups can be moved to massage an area, assisting with improved blood flow and detoxification of the skin and underlying tissues. Cups can also applied and left for a short period in one position, however this is more likely to temporarily mark the skin! Primarily used around areas of pain. |
Guided Scriptural Meditation:
These sessions can be provided face to face or remotely via Zoom Meditation focuses on Gods word and involves guided reading and reflection on scripture. It is prayerful and moves us closer to God so we can be transformed in Christ. Meditation is lead by the Holy Spirit who guides and helps us to understand the application of Gods word in our lives. This can help us to achieve direction, focus and a solid foundation for our daily living. |
